Karin's Bio

I began my journey to medical imaging upon graduation from the University of Kansas with a B.A. in Human Biology. I knew I was meant to do more, and I love the scientific yet artistic aspects of radiography. I continued my education earning a B.S. in Radiologic Technology from UNMC. I began working as a diagnostic technologist in my 2nd year in radiography school upon obtaining my temporary license.

I have worked in a variety of settings, but I have spent the majority of my career with the Methodist Health System as a licensed RT in Iowa and Nebraska. Full time, I am the Clinical Coordinator for the Radiologic Technology and Imaging Sciences programs at Nebraska Methodist College in Omaha, NE. My favorite subject to teach is Radiation Biology.

I was involved with the NSRT as a student, but have been actively involved with the since 2018 when I took my first group of students to the NSRT Annual Conference held at the time in Grand Island. I have previously held numerous positions on the Board of Directors. It brings me great joy to see my students and peers get involved in the NSRT because their participation helps to safeguard the future of our great profession.

On a personal note, I have been married to my husband Paul since 2009 and we have 3 children – Noah, Alexis, and Ayden. I am a bereaved mother as Noah passed away in 2012.  Along with the NSRT, I have worked with other non-profits focused on infant loss to preserve his memory and legacy. To sum up our family, we are a busy karate-dance-scouting family.
